gig-harbor-photoFairway Independent Mortgage Corporation branches in Gig Harbor, WA, partnered with the American Warrior Initiative (AWI) to honor a local veteran with a service dog. A “Boot Camp” was also held to educate real estate professionals on working with the home purchase needs of active duty and military veterans with excellence.

The honoree at this event was Earl Helmick. Earl served over seven years in the Army as a staff sergeant in transportation, including 15 months in Iraq from 2003 to 2004. Earl was extremely surprised by this gift and could not have been more thankful to Fairway and the AWI! The gift of a service dog will allow Earl to leave his home on his own comfortably. Earl’s entire family will also benefit from the service dog as his mother is in a wheelchair and the dog will be able to assist her as well.

Co-founded by Louise Thaxton and decorated Army veteran, Sean Parnell, The American Warrior Initiative is the giving arm of Fairway. AWI seeks to ease the transition for U.S. veterans between military and civilian life. The mission of the American Warrior Initiative is to inspire, educate and give back to our military and their families.

I am proud to work for a company that does so much to honor those who sacrifice for our country. If I can answer any questions about VA loans or any other home loans, please call me.
