IMG_0051Eleven Fairway Independent Mortgage Branches in Denver, CO, partnered with the American Warrior Initiative to honor Project Sanctuary. In collaboration with the event, a residential housing “Boot Camp” was also held to train real estate professionals on how to handle the home purchase needs of active duty and military veterans with excellence.

Project Sanctuary is a military family program that focuses on the needs and challenges faced by military families on a daily basis. Project Sanctuary works with veterans, active-duty service members and their families through a three-part program that entails: assessing the need, reconnecting the families, and thriving into the future. This program combines counseling, education, and self-development as well as recreational therapy through either immediate services or scheduling families for a six-day retreat. Additionally, Project Sanctuary supports military service members by helping them heal from the effects of war in a safe place and providing post-care follow-up for two years following treatment.

Through this overwhelmingly successful event, Colorado Fairway branches and AWI were able to donate $30,000 to Project Sanctuary. This donation will cover the cost of attending the retreats for ten families.

The American Warrior Initiative is a national non-profit organization sponsored by Fairway Independent Mortgage Corporation. Founded by Louise Thaxton and decorated war veteran Sean Parnell, AWI seeks to ease the transition for U.S. veterans between military and civilian life.

I am honored to work for a company that is a proud supporter of the American military and has helped thousands of active military personnel and veterans nationwide with their home mortgage needs. I feel extremely fortunate to be able to give back to these brave veterans and their families.
