One of the best parts of having a home with a guest room is that you can invite your friends and family from across the country to stay with you when they are in town. A guest room should allow your guests to feel comfortable and cared for. Follow these simple tips to help you and your houseguests love your guest room:
Fresh linens – Fresh sheets and towels make all the difference when making your guests feel welcome. White sheets, blankets and towels are an excellent option for a guest bedroom because you can bleach them to keep them looking new.
Closet and drawer space – While your guest bedroom may be prime space for off-season clothing, your houseguests would likely appreciate closet and drawer space to place their clothes. Clean out one or two drawers and a small amount of closet space to alleviate from the needs for living out of a suitcase.
Entertainment – Leave a couple books and magazines in your guest room so that your visitors have something to do if they have some down time. A note with Wi-Fi details and any information about electronics in the room is also a great idea.
Workspace – If you find yourself with guests staying for extended periods of time, it may be a good idea to add a desk or some other type of workspace to your guest room to allow them to place a laptop.
Toiletries – Place travel-sized toiletries such as shampoo, conditioner, soap and toothpaste in the bathroom or bedroom for your guests so that they are readily available if needed. Disposable toothbrushes and razors may also be helpful to your guests.
